Release 4 - Expected Release Date - August 6th

There are some key features becoming available with R4, especially if you are using Workspaces. Also the release of our integration with Zoho, a web application editor, keeps NetDocuments at the forefront of Web technologies and delivering these features to our customers. Workspaces > Folders > Profiling Coming Together!

Watch this demonstration as we show a law firm best practice example using Matter-centric Workspaces with folders as Document Types, and allow 1) filing into folders, or 2) continue filing by completing Profile fields. We recognize there are two types of users in law firms - those that are used to traditional DM with Profiling and those users who want to simply file to a folder and transparently complete the Profile (the workspace and folder does that work for me!) We love all of our users!

Posting of documents across all workspaces -
Many financial service firms use workspaces to share with their clients, and while many documents are unique per client, there are other documents that are to be shared across all clients, e.g., monthly newsletters, privacy policies, and other generic data sheets distributed across all clients. You can now deliver this solution by storing these public documents in one location in the cabinet, and then have a category displayed across all workspaces listing these documents. This is accomplished by having a category that does not inherit the respective Workspace's specific criteria, e.g. client name.

How about Editing Word Documents without MS Word Watch demo

You've all heard of Google Apps?
Have you heard of a similar solution from a company named Zoho?

Zoho Writer is an online word processor that allows you to edit documents online. You need not install any software on your desktop, all you need is just a browser and an internet connection for working with Zoho Writer.

NetDocuments is offering the solution to its customers by integrating with Zoho word processing so all you need to do is right click on a Word document, open with online editor, and edit your Word document > without having MS Word! And, you don't even need a Zoho account. It just works out of the ... "service."

We have made special efforts to ensure SSL security is still enforced as the editing happens online. For this reason, we may require an add-on fee for this feature ... but for now give it a try - it's a BETA — and let us know what you think! Do you like it? Should we add Excel and Powerpoint editing as well?

What all can I do with Zoho Writer?

Zoho Writer is loaded with a rich set of functionalities. You can:

Access and edit documents online with a powerful WYSIWYG editor, without MS Word.
Periodic auto-saving of your documents to prevent data loss.
Import documents back to NetDocuments in Word format.
View, edit and save documents available on the web directly (no need to download documents to your desktop & then open them using desktop-based software).
