Inspire 2025 Phoenix Day 3 Recap: NetDocuments AI Search Makes Its Debut

Another successful NetDocuments Inspire user conference is in the books! An amazing community of our customers, partners and industry thought leaders shared their knowledge and joined us in discussing what’s next in the future of intelligent document management and legal technology.
A Better Way to Search
Day three focused on the next frontier of intelligence and scalability within the NetDocuments platform. Attendees saw how AI-powered smart search is set to revolutionize how legal professionals find information. Search that understands context, not just keywords, to deliver faster and more relevant results. After all, why search the haystack when you can just ask for the needle.
Scott Kelly, Senior Director of Product at NetDocuments, showed a live demo of the new search, commenting, “Our hybrid search approach brings you the best of both worlds. In fact, with AI Search, a user enters a query, and NetDocuments runs two parallel searches – lexical (keyword-based) and semantic (concept-based), weighting and blending the results into one search results page.”
Evolution of the Platform
The sessions also spotlighted the platform’s continued evolution to AWS, bringing unmatched reliability, scalability, and security for law firms managing sensitive legal data. These enhancements lay the groundwork for large-scale AI and automation, ensuring the DMS evolves in step with customers’ needs.
For instance, the migration gives customers faster access, richer document history, and industry-leading compliance. It’s a major step toward powering large-scale AI and automation while ensuring the platform is ready for whatever comes next.
John Motz, NetDocuments CTO, shared, “We have transformed our core pillars into a cohesive strategy that drives innovation. This is the unified platform for everything that comes next.”
More Real Stories of Results
One of my favorite parts of the Inspire conference is highlighting customer successes, and this is the second year where we’ve featured forums where customers give TED-style talks about the work they’re doing. The results these teams are seeing is truly inspiring and changing the ways people work within their organizations.
Today’s stories covered going from skeptics to champions, CollabSpaces as a game-changer that eliminated the need for other tools, and NetDocuments-powered automations delivering meaningful real-world benefits to legal practitioners and clients.
Looking Ahead
The day included a celebration of our Inspire Customer Award winner, Dorsey & Whitney LLP, for their innovation, advocacy, and industry influence. And the event closed on a forward-looking note that emphasized the importance of coming together to listen and learn from each other, so we can continue partnering to build a smarter, faster, and more resilient foundation for the future of legal work.
“The breakthroughs we’ve explored here are just the beginning. By partnering with us, you’re not only embracing the future — you’re helping to shape it.”
Josh Baxter
CEO, NetDocuments
We can’t wait for next year’s NORAM Inspire conference that’s coming to Orlando, FL. In the meantime, we’ll see our EMEA and APAC customers at local Inspire conferences in November!
