Day 2 Recap from Inspire Phoenix: Innovation Where Great Legal Work Happens

Michael Owen Hill
Director of Product Marketing
Day two of Inspire 2025 brought AI innovation to life as we showed how NetDocuments is helping legal professionals turn technology into real productivity gains.
Check out this recap of insightful takeaways as our customers, partners and thought leaders dove deeper into how legal technology is transforming how legal professionals work today.
Hands On with AI
Attendees explored hands-on experiences with the AI Assistant, learning how to ask smarter questions and get faster, more accurate insights directly from their documents, inclusive of document editing.
“The NetDocuments AI Assistant is changing how legal professionals interact with their work — think of it as your on-demand research partner right inside your DMS,” said Michelle Spencer, Lead Product Marketing Manager, NetDocuments. “It’s about more than just using AI — it’s about mastering it, so your team can work faster, smarter, and with complete confidence.”
Sessions on AI Background Apps demonstrated how seamlessly AI can help legal professionals.
“Imagine your routine legal tasks getting done quietly in the background while you focus on higher-value work — that’s the power of NetDocuments AI Background Apps,” said Kyle Brogdon, Senior Product Manager, NetDocuments. “These intelligent automations handle profiling, summarizing, redlining, and more, running autonomously to save time and improve accuracy.”

Microsoft 365 Integrations Changing Everyday Workflows
Capabilities related to Microsoft 365 integrations gave Inspire attendees a look at the future of everyday workflows.
Nate Ruiz, Director of Product Management, NetDocuments said, “NetDocuments is making it easier than ever for lawyers to work where they already are — inside Microsoft 365. With seamless integrations for collaboration, email management, and real-time coauthoring, the intelligent DMS now fits effortlessly into everyday workflows. This means fewer clicks, fewer context switches, and more time spent on high-value legal work instead of chasing files and versions.”
Real Stories of Real Successes
Leaders across legal also shared proven strategies for driving adoption, building trust in AI, and preparing teams for lasting change.
Here’s one quote that struck a chord about the firm’s pace of adoption at Dorsey & Whitney LLP: “We have more than a dozen extraction apps for multiple practice areas, and we can now build a new AI app in an hour and deploy it within 24 hours.” – Caroline Boudreau Sweeney, Chief Knowledge & Innovation Officer
And more Customer Award winners were revealed for their inspiring work, with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff being honored with the Automation Innovation Award and Buchanan taking the AI Innovation Award.
Leading the AI-Powered Legal Landscape
The day’s takeaway was clear: the law firms that invest in people, process, and smart technology today will be the ones leading the AI-powered legal landscape of tomorrow.
With the NetDocuments annual user conference in Phoenix wrapping tomorrow, make sure to check back for Day 3 takeaways.
